If a portfolio is failed on first submission, the candidate must submit a brand new case report for each failed report. Case reports that have been failed may not be reworked and resubmitted. The case reports need not be in chronological order, but new cases must be clearly identified. Previously passed case reports may be included in resubmitted portfolios subject to the relevant time limits.

In the event of suspension from the representative’s register, the failed cases must be replaced by cases undertaken prior to the suspension. Alternatively, suspended representatives can complete cases at the police station as long as legal aid is not claimed for such work.

Candidates can choose to resubmit a portfolio from a different AO. If they do this, then the time limits for resubmissions will still apply, even though we will view the portfolio as a ‘new’ submission in its entirety.

Please note that there will be a compulsory £25 + VAT additional charge made for returning your portfolio to you as prescribed by the SRA requirements for this assessment. This will be added to your invoice automatically.
