Course Overview

Hair Drug and Alcohol testing has changed dramatically over the past 12–18 months, yet the majority of solicitors and courts are worryingly unaware of what testing should be ordered and how to correctly interpret results.

It is believed that up to 30% of hair alcohol tests are currently interpreted incorrectly so if one of your clients has ever ended up with an unexpected result, this may explain why. A lack of knowledge in this area could have a detrimental impact upon the clients you represent and with the need for testing to be conducted in the majority of care proceedings; this issue is only ever likely to get worse.

Therefore it is vital that all family and children law practitioners know the truth about testing and result interpretation. Not only will this course discuss the limitations of testing, what to request when booking a test and how to make sense of written reports, it will also teach you how to identify errors and challenge the evidence were necessary.
