Course Overview

Invented in 2008, Blockchain is the technology the underpins digital currency and came into the public sphere with the launch of Bitcoin.

Blockchain is now changing the landscape of industries including finance and real estate, yet most people do not understand what it is, how it works or why they should care.

Delivered by Ashley Moore and Mike Milner of K.Y.T Consulting, this series of 3 core modules is aimed at legal practitioners with little or no prior knowledge of Blockchain technology, and is designed to provide viewers with an understanding of this developing area so that they may acquire new clients whose matters involve digital assets.

Structured in the form of a slide presentation which viewers can move through at their own pace, each core module incorporates bite-size webinars of Ashley and Mike which recap and contextualise important information.  

Core 1 - Blockchain Technology Fundamentals
This module will examine the origin of Blockchain, explaining what it is and then exploring its various use-cases, with specific examples from some of the world’s largest companies

Core 2 - Crypto-Assets

Core 3 - Buying, Selling & Custody of Digital Assets
This module focuses on how crypto-assets are acquired, liquidated and stored. Specifically, we shall review the counter-party options when buying and selling these assets, alongside key considerations, their associated risks and their expected costs.

About Instructor - KYT Consulting

Ashley Moore

Ashley has over 20 years' experience in the financial industry and is an active early stage investor and consultant to Technology and Digital Asset companies.

He ran trading desks for various broker-dealers in the UK and throughout Asia, including TP-ICAP, GFI Group and Cantor Fitzgerald, and has extensive knowledge of FX, Equity and Fixed Income derivatives.

As an investor at start-up rating company Oddup, based in Hong Kong, Ashley has been heavily involved in their expansion. Oddup now rate and value companies and STO projects in 34 cities across the globe and provides critical data to Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg and large Investment Banks.

Mike Milner

Mike consulted to one of the UK’s first digital asset teams at a London based Asset Manager. He has also consulted to an array of London City Law firms, providing a road map to legal professionals regarding how to approach a case that contains a digital component.

He has assisted with capital raises for various Blockchain companies and consulted for Accountancy firms, providing context to the requirements of their client base with regards to digital assets.

Mike has assisted private clients with their digital portfolio requirements; guiding them through the set-up of safe custody, making their initial investments and liquidating their holdings.
He has also published academic literature in the international medical journal, “Clinical Physiology and Functional Imaging”
