Course Overview

With a senior position attained (or the next step on your career progression) getting to grips with the transition from manager to ‘leader’ is a crucial matter that cannot be left to chance.

This course will give you the definitive guide to becoming effective in that new senior role. This programme assumes knowledge of supervisory management attained from the Datalaw First Level Legal Manager programme and builds your portfolio of management skills. But beware: this is not about theory – it is a highly practical course where you will be able to make an immediate positive impact on your return to the office.

During this course experienced lecturer Mac Mackay will explore leadership and how you can make an immediate difference in your department or firm with a focus on the ‘RULES’ for improved profits. With a better understanding of accounting practices we will be able to make sense of the numbers and discover why ‘bigger’ might not always be ‘better’.

Strategies to build your practice are discussed along with ways to manage your CPD in the new SRA competency framework world – and become a better manager of people, too. The seminar concludes with a look at how to devise plans that work!
