Course Overview

This thought-provoking course builds on and develops those verbal communication skills for lawyers, already acquired through existing practice and is designed to help you to succeed in achieving your objectives and to enable you to secure co-operation from your staff, colleagues and clients.  This course explores what goes wrong with communications and why before considering how to maximise effectiveness in our exchanges with others. The subject of persuasion and influence are addressed giving the novice and seasoned practitioner alike new insights to ‘getting you own way’. It will also consider new media to recognise common pitfalls and develop strategies to improve communications.

In support of this practical workshop, viewers will receive access to a comprehensive on-line workbook, a pre-work document which will encourage you to evaluate your existing practices and know-how and a post-event discussion template which line managers can use to assess how staff have benefited from the course and to determine whether there any on-going training needs.
