Our company was started by two solicitors who were tired of paying large amounts for training. Below are a few of the questions that are solicitors ask us. On 1st April 2015 the SRA announced their new approach to CPD which focuses on solicitors assessing and maintaining their competence. Solicitors now have two options; follow existing CPD requirements (mandatory 16 hours) or transfer to the new competence based scheme. Regardless of which option you choose, the SRA have emphasised that solicitors will need to review their training needs on a regular basis, and undertake appropriate measures to address any needs identified, as and when required. There is no suggestion that solicitors will no longer require training. Please note the new approach became mandatory for all solicitors from 1st November 2016.

Individual courses and bundle prices are advertised on a single user basis unless stated otherwise. Discounted multi-user licenses are available and are based on the number of people within your firm; the price breaks are 1-10, 11-20 and 20+ with the exception of the Access all Areas bundle which is subject to quotation for firms with over 30 members of staff. Unlike other CPD providers Datalaw do not charge membership or subscription fees. You may also choose to subscribe on a rolling monthly basis to our All Areas Library with no minimum term, from as little as £49+Vat per month. All of our courses are competitively priced and can be purchased on a pay as you go basis. In addition, we also offer course bundles and multi-user licenses at discounted rates to ensure that our customers receive high quality training at cost effective prices and no hidden costs.

The SRA no longer require solicitors to complete 'live' CPD e.g. attend a course at a venue or participate during a live webinar. For those who enjoy the interaction offered by a live course, but who do not want the cost implication or inconvenience of having to leave the office or home, Datalaw do offer a limited number of topical and informative live webinars during September and October to coincide with the end of the CPD year.

Customers have access to their CPD purchase for a period of 12 months. Extended access for up to 24, 36 or 48 months can be purchased at a discounted rate. If this is of interest, please contact the Datalaw Team on 0151 236 2024 for further details.

You can access your account 24/7 using any internet connected device. Please note our live sessions are delivered via WebEx and as such can only be viewed using a P.C., laptop or Mac.

Firstly, check that your headphones or speakers are connected to your computer system and that the volume is turned up. Secondly, check that the webinar has not been accidentally muted – if this is the case a red cross will appear over the speaker icon on the volume bar directly underneath the video.
